consistent and positive adults in their lives.
At least 10,000 children in Monterey County live with only one parent-or in
some cases, neither parent- but other relative or a foster family.
Children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are 46% less likely to start using
drugs.
Children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are 27% less likely to drink.
Children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are 52% less likely to skip
school.
Children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are 33% less likely to hit
someone.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monterey County is the only local youth-serving
agency that povides one-to-one mentors for children.
